Selah Creek Classic 2026 | Charity Clay Shoot Near Rockwall at Texas Gun Ranch

Some fundraisers are a rubber chicken dinner and a silent auction for a gift basket nobody wants.

This is not that.

On Thursday, October 1, the 3rd annual Selah Creek Classic takes over Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell — about 20 minutes down 205 from Rockwall. Registration opens at 12:30, shooting starts at 2:00, and then it rolls straight into dinner, drinks, a whiskey tasting, cigars, prizes, and raffles that are actually worth winning.

You don't need to be a great shot. You don't even need to be a decent shot. First-timers are welcome, and honestly, half the fun is watching your buddy miss.

Okay, but what's Selah Creek?

Here's the part that matters.

Selah Creek is a residential home right here in Terrell for young moms facing an unplanned or unsupported pregnancy. Not a shelter. A home. Safe housing, education, real support — the kind of help that changes a mom's life and her baby's life at the same time.

The whole thing started with a question the founders couldn't shake: what happens to the young moms who don't have family around to help? Ashley Potts, who started Selah Creek with her husband Kevin, was 19 and scared when she found out she was pregnant. She had a tribe of people who stepped in. A lot of girls don't.

So they built one.

That's who your entry fee helps. Every clay you break (or miss) puts money toward housing, education, and a real shot at a different future for a mom and her kid.

The Rockwall connection

This event has Rockwall fingerprints all over it.

Group 1 Ford of Rockwall is a presenting sponsor. Rockwall Flooring & Design is on the sponsor board. Soulman's is in the mix too — and if Soulman's is anywhere near the dinner, you already know it's going to be good. Gaskill Knives and HBTX round out the list.
